So resurrecting this one again - looks like the image hosting strikes again and no pictures.
If I get this right the fuel filter changed from metal housing post 2002 yes?
If so I think I now need to sell a couple on!
Folks
For a 2003 model which type of fuel filter is correct?
I understand it needs to be the replacement cartridge type but over on Opie Oils the Bosch and Mahle appear somewhat different:
Mahle Fuel Filter KX86/1D (Audi A2); or
BOSCH Fuel Filter F026402084 [ N 2084 ]
Or are they the same?!
Cheers!
Should say old bleed was fine so keeping safe incase. Wasn't worth risk not having back up. Yes I did transfer new o rings to metal bleed.I've just done mine using @depronman replacement bleed. I didn't jack car high but manged okay using stand on the rubber bung circle point for lifting. My filter had 35k use. What came out was gritty and there was sludge blocking drain holes above bung. Took and hour and I was nervous and cautious and slow. I bought small hose clamps and a 27mm six sided socket as recommended. The main lid was tight and dry so hard to undo.
Foil cover tray is fragile so inspect remove it first to see if you can refit it before you start. ?
Thanks Paul, your device was lovely, went in snug and way better! Car drives a touch more urgent now and response up a bit. Will try yet another limp mode test later tonight see if fuel starve was issue. Cars drive just keeps getting better! What a great car 90 is to drive. Ill run some fuel cleaner at some point having seen the shat that fell out. Its got injector cleaner in at moment. Thanks againThat filter looks horrid beat place for it is the bin
You where certainly one of the lucky ones with getting the plastic drain screw out in one piece 95% snap
