I believe the mk1 tt seats fit with abit of modification I think someone on here has recently fitted them into there A2 not 100% sure :)

Yep MK1 TT seats fit but brackets need to be made to fit the mounting points. Have a look for threads by Luzt. The great thing is you can pick up TT seats for less than £100

There is a guide in 'How To', and a Google search will reveal more threads such as this one...

Pete, can you pm me pics of these seats.

TT (Mk1) seats are on my (long) list, airbags apparently are a simple plug and play plus heated seats are relatively common and also fairly easy to retrofit.

My Dad has a mk2 tt so if I ever get bored of my standard A2 seats. He’s may go missing ? I’m sure he won’t mind ??

I fitted heated TT seats to my A2, added the heater controls, wiring loom and brackets for the seats.

Did you make brackets needed yourself in order to fit seats?

Yep, but from pieces of bracket for joists etc from B&Q, these are pre drilled brackets, long time ago now so I cannot remember what I bought, but basicallyI need to make 3 brackets as one bolt on the TT seats when into the original place at the back inner position. Then a flat bracket for the outer rear which can be seen in the photo. Then two 45 degree angled brackets for the fronts and bolts to hold the seats to them. This photo shows the heated seat looms added and you can just make out the angled brackets that I paint black to hide them with the holes to mount the seats.

Would be awesome if guys who have had them fitted and had brackets made to may be make some more at a cost to who is interested.
That is if you have use to machinery to make them that is...

Ok have brackets to fit A3 seats but need holes drilling. Will look at adaptor plates and once sorted have a very reasonable fabricator.
If theres enough interest they could be laser cut n folded.

A word of caution. The loads on a seat in the event of a collision are huge. Look at how well an original seat is attached!
Brackets fabricated to adapt the TT seats to the A2 fixing locations need to be very strong especially as the outside fixings are eccentric to the originals (TT seat runners are at last a couple of centimeters narrower than the A2 ones) A simple piece of bent steal us not going to be anything like strong enough. Proper fabricated welded brackets from heavy guage steal are needed (3-4 mm) if you want to be safe. If a seat broke loose in an accident I am pretty sure the insurance company would be claiming 'none standard mod' invalidating the insurance!
Please do it properly.

Absolutely correct.

It was this concern which made me use 3mm steel (40mm right angle section) for my retrofit and in addition to using high tensile bolts, I've also welded the TT seat anchors to the new brackets.

It wouldn't surprise me if you could pick the car up by the seats now - over-engineered, but peaceful mind.
