Hello from Storm !

Sounds good will be in contact tomorrow

I am sure Steve won't mind me butting in. I raised a possible NOX sensor issue, but it was only a guess, it may be okay, hold off awaiting a proper scan. Likewise with the lower inlet manifold, it may be okay (after cleaning), you won't know exactly what the problem is until you get at it to see what is wrong.

Ok managed to plug a basic code reader in today and it has come up with the following codes, oh and the oil sensor warning light has come on. codes are
17439
17441
16788

Not sure if they are all relevant but have not cleared them yet to check. I am also waiting to speak with the Audi specialist in Melksham to see what they will quote for any work. supposed to be a long term project this !! already trying to back on the road ASAP :)

Evening,

A good source for information on fault codes is the Ross-Tech website. If you google 'Ross-Tech "fault code"' and click the first link you get it.

17439 is essentially the lower inlet manifold flap problem of which you are aware.

17441 is a NOX sensor fault.

16788. Nothing immediately comes up on Ross-Tech Google, strange, are sure the number is right? The odd reference to EGR fault on other Audi forums, but might also be a cheap scanner producing bogus info.

I've just bought pretty much the same car (blue colour storm fsi). Mine has had about £1000 spent on it at Audi last year which I thought was the manifold flap but I've now got the Audi invoice and it was a new injector etc for cylinder 4.

Now I'm hoping that Audi would have looked at the flap at the same time as the engine was apart, as normally they're quick to quote for extra work needed as they did another £800 worth of suspension work!

Just done a short video the plastic actuator looks to be in one price so that’s good news ! Now just need to get it off ! Couple of specialists I spoke to today only want to replace it , hoping by repacking Nox sensor that will get it MOT and do this as and when if the light goes off

Hi normally the rod snaps at the bottom as shown on the picture below. Is your OBD scanner able to move the rod up and down by going on the settings? This will then show if the rod has broken

Hi no my scanner doesn’t , it does not look like that though and trying moving it and seems attached

The other way you could try to see if it’s broken is pull the rod upwards and then try and pull it forward or backwards if it moves that means it’s broken but don’t go to mad pulling on the rod as it could snap if not already :);)

Nice. Looks just like mine :D My interior ultrasonics button fell apart today when I caught it pressing the fuel release... I have a button, a spring and a white plastic bit.

Ha I have a broken one of those as well mine is placed back together tried to fix it today think a new one will be required :)

Looking at the picture of your new wiper, it looks as though the rivets at the end of the arm have stretched, and the arm will soon start scraping the screen. This is a common problem (although it may of course just be an unwanted photographic effect) but it's something you might want to check. One of the forum regulars here - @depronman - does service the arms to better than new spec if you need that.

Let me know if you need a aero wiper ungraded

Has anyone got a photo or similar of where the Nox sensor box is located please ? Looks like a busy weekend ! As Storm is going into to hopefully get worked on and gets his MOT !

It's under the passenger seat mate. You'll have to take the seat out to get access.
