Chat introduction.

Hello everyone, got my first A2 a week ago, I’ve got a lot to learn, and a stack of jobs I wanna do, but first I gave it a oil service with some decent Rock oil, top priority though is a new belt ASAP, I’m so use to cruise so I’ve already enquired about a retrofit, I’m not really a spanner man, I’m more into paint and bodywork, but I guess I can tackle small to medium size jobs anything else and I’m sure someone here will point me to the right place, I look forward to visiting and contributing to the club in the future,
Well to start with I need some advice about the air filter, I dropped the undertray and got to the filter box, I tried to remove the screws but found them to be badly corroded, so I think I need to remove the complete assembly to effect a repair and element change, so what I need to know is how do you take it out, through the top or out the bottom, any pointers please. Mark

Welcome to the best small Audi EVER. Cruise is nice to have. You have been PM'd. Look at the tabs along the top of the screen and to the right of you name there is a letter icon this will now have a red number on it. Simply click on it to open.

This is the parts manual.

and this is the workshop manual

If you need help just ask.

the air filter box must come out from under the car, I can't recall if it can be removed without taking the front bumper off.
However you can drill the heads of the self tappers, remove the lid, and then get grips on the 3/8" of the screw which will be remaining to get it out
Had to do this some years ago on one of mine, air-filter looked like the mice had been living in there for some years :)
