Many of the A2OC community will have followed the recent Scottish Social and shared in the sadness of John's passing last month following a short illness.
For those that met him or have simply been touched by the story - John's wife Sheila would like to extend an invitation to join her at a celebration of John's life at 2pm on Saturday 28th September at Sibsey Church Lincolnshire. The service and interment of John's ashes will be followed by a gathering of friends at Sibsey village hall.

There is a Premier Inn 5 miles away in Boston which at the time of writing is very reasonable at around 40 pounds per room for the Saturday.

Please add your name to the guest list if you can attend.

Here's a few photos shared by Sheila.

I have attached the official invitation to John's Celebration of Life so that you can see all the details.
As several people will be in Boston for the Friday night, I am thinking of booking a table for Dinner either at the Premier Inn - Burton House restaurant -
or at Prezzo in the town. Personally I prefer Prezzo but it would mean those staying would need to drive into town ...
Please let me know if you would like to do this.
I have received 18 canvases from Snapfish today. They chart John's Life from the birth of our son Matthew in 1979 until Saturday 27th May at the Cowshed!! Quite a story...
Love to you all.

Hi A2 Family.

Only 4 weeks till we celebrate John's Life...
I am wondering if anyone staying on Friday night would be able to help with setting up the hall on the Saturday morning?
Timings TBC.

Regarding the Friday evening, please confirm, either way, if you would like me to book a table at the Burton House Restaurant (on site at the Premier Inn) or Prezzo (in town).
I have Fred and Sharon, our friends from Greenfield Indiana, staying with me and they would love to meet you all. Also 3 friends from Nottingham staying at the Premier Inn who will be joining us for dinner, hopefully.

As Fred, Sharon and I are going on our Great Railway Journeys trip to Scotland from 13th to 21st September, I would like to get things booked ASAP.

Thanks so much for your support over the last months. I can't believe it is 3 months since we lost John. He is with me in spirit and pleased with how I am getting on, but wants me to be tidier!!

Love to you all.

Good morning Sheila. We would be willing to help set the hall up and are happy to go with your recommendations as to where to eat on the Friday evening.

Cheers

Dave.

As per Daves message Sheila. Happy to lend a hand and wherever you want to eat on Friday is good for me. You said you preferred Prezzo in town so let's do that.

1 for the meal booking

Thanks Murdo.
I will book Prezzo...
Please can you all let me know how many of you would like to come. Please reply with the numbers e.g. 2 adults + 2 children.
Thank you very much.

As per Dave and Murdo, happy to assist in anyway possible with setting up and putting things away.

As things stand, 4 for the meal please (2 adults and 2 children). There might be a change to the children, though adults are confirmed.

Thanks Sheila.

We'll be coming up on the day, so nothing to do for us for the Friday evening, but equally sorry not to be able to help with setting up the hall.

Hi Sheila...

Two more for Prezzo...and any help you require, just ask, as we will be up on Friday afternoon xx

Hi. I'm happy to help set up on saturday morning and could I add one in for me for the meal please.
Thank you Sheila xx

Hi A2OC Friends.

Things are coming together for John's Celebration of Life on 28th...

Several people have asked about dress code.
John liked bright colours especially multi colour bow ties, jackets and bright ties. So nice and colourful please.

Also I have been asked if "Can I bring something for the buffet?" Yes please! Numbers are up to 130 and rising. So cakes, savouries, etc., would be very much appreciated. Please let me know if you are bringing something so I can make sure I top up with other things when I order this Saturday.

Friday night is also looking good. About 20 so far so a nice get together at Prezzo.

I am looking forward to seeing you all.

Love and hugs.

I'll make some cupcakes and mini cheese scones. I'm also happy to bring crisps and nibbles. But please let me know if there is anything else you need (drinks?)
There are quite a few of us there on Saturday morning to help get everything set up

Thanks so much T.
Yes please. That would be lovely. Nibbles on the tables is something I hadn't thought of!
I am going to have a toast to John with bubbles when we get back to the village hall.
I am planning to have wine and soft drinks available from the bar area on a Help Yourself basis.
The buffet will be in the bar area, again for people to help themselves.
There will be tea and coffee available from the kitchen hatch. There are two water boilers plus kettles.
So far 140 friends and family have confirmed. I think it will be nearer 200...
I found out yesterday 3 MG Car Club friends are travelling 700 miles from Cornwall, so that's both ends of the UK and a lot in between.
I knew John was very much loved but now it's confirmed I feel so proud.
Love and hugs XXX
