Is the £170 set inclusive of springs (as these are B3) in which case that's a great price. If the kit is dampers only then are you planning to add B3 springs or reuse existing? I have various setups here though I'll taylor my info once I know your plans. D.

Hi no the set on offer is just shocks b4 no springs included ...I thought that was good price ? I am looking for similar ride quality with standard wheels ..as for springs hopefully looking for input ...I would not want low ride I want comfort ..we live in the sticks ?
I am just putting all this away for a future complete rebuild ..I have full pagid brakes front and back mele drop links etc ..hope this gives you a better idea of what I’m looking for ..?

Thanks for the clarification, I'll update later though B4s are very keenly priced at spring-loaded.co.uk, close to £100 for all four last time I ordered.

B4 shock absorbers are certainly standard height and a straightforward swap from the originals. B3 springs are a cost-effective replacement and a good match for the B4s.

I'm looking at B6s along with B3s for my A2, hang the expense!

Interesting, I have b6s still in the box, just wondering if there is much benefit in getting the b3s vs the standard springs on the car

It depends on the age and condition of the standard springs. Mine are beginning to corrode, and Audi's OEM springs are a horrendous price.

Reason I ask is the b3s will not be made for the a2 they will be a spec close to the a2 spec, when I’ve checked model numbers on the dampeners they also fit polos for example, the oem part numbers do not

I have just done this with my A2. I fitted the Biltein B4 kit but used a set of lowering springs, being the sport model it didnt really effect the ride height much. The ride is just as firm but the rebound is more noticable, I put this down to the original shocks that were shot.

Just priced up the 4off B4 shocks and b3 springs £237.04 inc vat ...that doesn’t seem bad at all ..?
We have several variations of suspension though there's not a huge difference between them(to me at least), I'm sure B4/B3 will be a comfortable improvement over existing. The biggest difference I've experienced (handling not ride) is the fitting of a rear anti roll bar, think I'll buy another for the 90.
