Service Offered: Colour DIS

It's probably buried somewhere in this thread, but how do you change the view, if it was a none DIS car fitment?
Colour DIS can be fitted to A2s with DIS and A2s without DIS. However, installing Colour DIS in an A2 without DIS is more complex and more expensive because you need to install extra wiring looms and the wiper stalk with the DIS controls on the end.

Cheers,

Tom

Hello DIS lovers!

Many, many thanks for the hugely positive feedback you've all provided about this. It's clear that this upgrade is something the members of this club would very much like to have.

As you can see from the photos above, the converted cluster is running on my workbench rather than in an A2. As such, there is still a lot of development and testing to be done before it'll be available. It seems I've now put myself under pressure to get the work complete!

Just to be clear, this is not an Audi product but has instead been developed by a third party. As such, there are still questions that need to be answered.

Many thanks for your patience. To all those who have sent me a PM, rest assured I will reply to you personally.
I'll let you all know how things go. :)

Cheers,

Tom
Umm..... now you've made we want each individual dial on the instrument cluster to be replaced with full color digital equivalents.... especially the engine temperature... yeah,- small round digital fuel and engine temp gauges.... ?

The latest software for Colour DIS features dials for coolant temperature, oil temperature, engine torque, throttle body position, etc. They're all individually displayed on the screen, of course, but are designed to look like the original A2's analogue gauges.

Tom

...now I started to collect for the colour MFA. PM you soon. Thanks in advance.
No worries at all. Please don't make any purchases without running them past me, as you may waste your money. If Colour DIS is being fitted to an A2 that already has DIS, I supply everything. If Colour DIS is being fitted to an A2 without DIS, there are a few bits and pieces that you can buy in advance should you wish, but I supply the complex bits.

Cheers,

Tom

Does the colour DIS only show the speed in kmph?

No. All units are selectable in the setup menu. You can show speed in mph or km/h, fuel economy as mpg or l/100km, etc, etc.

Cheers,

Tom
Ah, good... I'll be up for one of those then, when I've saved up enough.(my DIS is fading quite a lot).. Lately it's been boring stuff...-( replacing thermostats & starter motors etc)... I'd much prefer "Full colour Stats" appraising me of the car's systems, health & wellbeing etc...? Anyhow- "Ser deg Senere Tom"....?

Oh,- because I thought timmus was going to, or had been, to Norway... I haven't been, but my late father spent quite some time there in the early 1960's...?
Ah, it all makes sense now.

My sister and I went to Norway around this time last year. We were kindly collected at the airport by A2OC member @Tore Kjernmoen before adding Colour DIS to his 1.2 TDI.

Those of you who are currently watching the David Attenborough series 'Seven Worlds, One Planet' will have seen the musk ox fighting in the Dovrefjell wilderness. At the centre of that wilderness stands Snøhetta, the highest mountain in Norway outside the Jotunheimen range. In order to climb Snøhetta, my sister and I had to avoid the musk ox herd. The advice from local people was to keep at least 200m away, and when I saw the males in particular, I knew why!

Once we'd climbed Snøhetta, we moved to the Jotunheimen range to ascend the highest mountain in northern Europe. Seldom have I seen such untouched, savage beauty. Jotunheimen may not be as high as the Alps, but there are no tracks, no villages in the valleys, no grazing cows, no ski lifts, no cable cars, no restaurants on summits, etc. May it stay that way forever. Here's a photo I took...

Those who have seen the Thor films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be aware of the Frost Giants from Jotunheim. These mountains are the true Frost Giants.

@David McCaskill Elliott, on this occasion, it was Cyprus that I visited, not Norway. Of course, I ascended Cyprus' highest mountain, but it was altogether a warmer experience! :)

Cheers,

Tom
