Today I fitted my new (to me) three spoke TT steering wheel and a replacement indicator stalk (thank you A2Steve).

Now I can indicate again and my steering wheel matches my TT alloys!

I intend to do this job at the weekend. Please can you confirm the socket type & size required for the main bolt?
Thanks

Yep, as per pm, they have double sided tape on the back of them too.

In which case I guess a hairdryer and a plastic trim removal tool will come in handy Steve with WD40 to remove the glue residue.

They do come off. I cut the tape with an extendable knife
Then cleaning the glue of the trim and the door takes an age

I am still wanting to take my Webasto out to see if it can be fixed.
I could not remove one of the bolts holding the mounting bracket behind the black turbo? pipe. How did you get at it?
You should do a how to remove and reinstall Webasto thread...

Hi bud,

Do you mean the one behind the MAF sensor housing and the black air intake black looking down from the top?

The MAF housing can be easily removed by removing the two spring clips and the plug and wiggling out the middle piece and the two bits of air intake ducting can then be pulled out the way and cable tied to the side. I’ll take a photo later on if the rain stops.

Alex.

As mentioned below you need a 12point M12 spline type bit to remove the bolt holding the wheel on. A few torq bits to get off all the housings etc. But these were just normal bits.

The 12 point is the same kind as you need for removing the seats - I got a kit for quite cheap on eBay.

Remember your airbag safety.

Gutted for you Paul.

Lots of sound advice to remove the trim, just take your time and use a combination of fishing wire, heat (warming, not scorching) and trim removal tools. Mask the surrounding area for extra protection. Good luck.

The fishing line is what Wish and Alibaba are for - wish usually just charge postage of 2 quid and you get 50 metres of stuff :)

Let me know what the clattering noise is, I’m having a similar issue with mine!

Will do! I must have another go with the jacks and crowbar (under the roadwheels) and try to get it to do it.

Perhaps then it'll be quiet enough to get to bottom of the dash rattle (going to try going up the road sans bonnet, just to rule that out).

@Rusty911 Have a look at this thread. Do not know if your rattle is coming from the same area but worth a look.
