Opinions welcome!

Hi all,
New to A2OC and looking to buy. What should I pay for a 51 plate 1.4 SE petrol in very good condition with 65,000 miles full non Audi history and 3 owners. Any opinion welcome, cheers.

Very good condition these days is very subjective. Service history is the key.
Do you have pictures to share? It would help tremendously as the devil is in the details....

Second that. A link to an advert would be good, if it's online. There are some sellers out there trying it on really hard with lower mileage examples on the basis of the mileage alone. But if this one has full history, that could make a higher asking price more worthwhile.

Around 3k if it is really ‘very good condition’
(Just my opinion)
And all depends how much you want it and how much they don’t.
Good luck Glenn

No photos to send at the moment, I agree condition very subjective. One persons "mint" is another's average!

Regardless of the external condition and the service record it is always a case of buyer beware. In the end if you think it is the correct car for you and you have a good look at everything and if not mechanically minded at least get a second opinion on it. Prices are all over the place, depending on spec, fuel type, mileage and geographical location. For that reason you may be better looking further afield for a car if they are more expensive locally. Many owners traveled many miles to purchase their car. When you do buy think about any costs that are imminent, known problems and length of MOT. Allow yourself some spare in your budget for the obvious. After purchase there will be on going costs but same for all cars. Most items that were on the original options list for the cars when new can be retrofitted - at a price, so do not get too worried about a specific trim or option.

Please don't loose sight of the basic fact that we're talking about cars that are 15 - 20 years old. They need bits replaced. I paid top ish dollar, but still, in the 18 months we've had it, we've spent around £1000 on service, cam belt & water pump, heater flap actuator etc. Am I surprised! No, similar situation with our Mk1 TT.
Bit, I have two cars I love, and am proud of. I'd guess most A2OC members know what I mean.
An A2 is for life, not just for ??
Mac.
