Pollen filter

Evening everyone, I have just cleaned the filter and I am struggling to get the black plastic cover back on. Anyone know how it fits as I am stumped, everything else is ok. I have used a link that's been posted on how too change the filter but forgot how the black cover fits back on. Thanks Spud

Its a pain to refit Spud but keep at it. Check my Pollen Filter thread for pics.<br/>

Your right there manhattan$, its a right pain in the arse. Thanks for the thread

Cheers for the help, I fitted the new filter yesterday. Bit of a pig to get the black cover back on but its blowing 110℅ now. A lot fresher in the cabin now. Spud

it should just slot in. Turn it 90 degrees, it's not completely square. Check if there's some junk stopping it being pushed in.

The new filter was at least 1cm larger than the old one in all dimensions. I had to use considerable force to jam it into the bracket and the whole thing back into the car. And now I think it's leaking somewhere around the filter casing as there is some turbulence sounds when the fan speed is up.

Can't really recommend that filter after this. I should have know as the dimensions were bigger than the others. Or maybe the bracket size has changed since 2001.

sizes should be the same. This is from Motonet or Audi? I think my last one was from motonet, I need a new one anyway, along with air and oil filters.

Correct part number for Audi A2 MANN cabin filter is CU 2545 or CUK 2545 for the filter with odour control.

If you have a broken or missing pollen filter frame then don't despair. A new design of pollen / cabin filter was created in 2012 that takes the place of both the old filter and frame.

Essentially CU and CUK 26 010 supercedes CU and CUK 2545 and you no longer use the black rectangular flimsy frame that surrounds the pollen filter element.

I should also clarify that filter airflow direction arrows should always point towards the centre of the vehicle. That is air flows from left to right sitting inside a RHD car.

Here is a link to MANN documentation explaining the change. Although it doesn't mention the A2 specifically the fact is that CU and CUK 2545 were the original correct part numbers for A2 pollen filters; so the change also applies to A2s.

I did not know this when I got my last filter I thought I’d ordered the wrong one. I fitted it anyway I put the frame somewhere safe

This is gold. I replaced my cabin filter and discovered a broken surround. Had it not been for your post, I would not know that I could just throw it away. I try to avoid Amazon, but could not source it elsewhere (ASIN B00URDQ9KA). This is the top of the Mann filters with "Allergen protection" & "Prevents bacteria". Fits like a glove. The fitting instructions actually quote Audi A2 explicitly. Amazing forum!

Oh dear. I stuffed my last filter into the frame and broke it but wedged it in under tension anyway, dreading the next replacement.

Now this explains why it was so tight!

Thanks for the tip, just changed mine today and went for the 26010 fitted perfectly with out the outer surround.

Afternoon all,

Yes this thread is a great reminder to us all. I fitted a new Bosch Carbon filter yesterday in the 250 A2. What I pulled out wasn’t that bad actually. I’ve either done this after I purchased it or @Nicholas Golland had it changed just before the sale.

Always nice to know that a fresh filter is fitted though.

Kind regards,

Tom
