Bg44k

I do not see why not. Just make sure you follow all instructions to the letter before, during and after use.

Going by this it will be ok...

BG44K and BG244 are suitable for car, motorcycle, commercial, agricultural and marine engines. They will not harm the turbo charger or diesel particulate filter. BG 44K can be used in diesel or petrol engines.

I think I’m gonna try some, I’ve filled the tank with super unleaded, see what happens with that then get some bg44k and see if I can shift some carbon to help with poor idle and dropping a cyl after 30 sec idling or so..thanks for your guidance

I would also have a full VCDS scan done on the car to see if any issues you are unaware of get highlighted. Plugs leads and coil pack could also be amiss. Plus fuel issues such as filter or pump.

Your issue of dropping a cyclinder after 30 seconds will not be fuel related, it will be ignition related, the ECU counts the number of mis fires and after a set number cuts fuel to that injector so the CAT is not damaged,
Spark Plug, coil pack being the places to start looking

Ok, I’m gonna have to get it checaked out at sometime

I’ve just put some bg44k into the fuel system with some higher octane fuel.....watch this space. I only do short stop/start journeys around town so we’ll see if any improvement

It’s going for mot in 3weeks I’ll get them to do a scan for any issues
First check what scan kit they have. Many generic scanners don't support the VW specific codes, just the universal (and very limited) codes the OBD standard mandates.
The car simply sends a set of characters to the scanner, the scanner will attempt to match those characters to a look up table (a list of possible descriptions) and display that to the user. It can only give you helpful data, if it supports, in it's table, all VW specific fault descriptions. Many generic scanners do not.
Mac.
