That would be great!
You're right and I have no doubt that FSi's in particular could probably have quite a broad range of fettles so to speak.
As it happens, there have been a few developments.
So Today I ... scanned the FSi Sport, and started with a host of nonsense, lots of low voltages etc. Duff battery I assume as it has a new one fitted. Cleared those down, left with usual heater flap stuff and a throttle body code, plus one below.
I checked the tyre pressures, rather hoping they were set to about 76 all round. Sadly they were all bob on 20psi. As it already felt pretty firm this wasn't great news. Took them to 30 as a starting point.
Went to put the Pro-Boost on out of interest, and found something unsettling which I'll show below. Long and short is by fitting and removing the pro-boost (battery disconnected, capacitance discharged) the steering fault elevated from warning only with engine running, steering actually working, to warning up with ignition on only, no power steering at all.
Took it for a run (after having a quick look at the possibly 11 year old timing belt). I have to say, it seemed to pull a bit better, although very rorty. Ride now astonishingly firm. Panda 100hp firm. But it definitely seemed to have a bit more get up and go, less surging generally happier. Perhaps the new fuel (Esso 98) has worked its way through? Actually it was only this evening I realised why it was so rorty: when checking the timing belts, I took the main inlet pipe off at TB end to get better access to the rear timing cover clip: I bet I forgot to put the pipe back on! So, was it perception? Better air-flow? Don't know until I try it again.
Scanned it again, down to one code for the whole car:
01309 Power steering control module (J500) 49-00 - No communication
Anyway, I like yellow: probably even more than the next person. I like daffodils, I like custard, golden retriever puppies and the midday sun.
I don't like yellow when it's been inserted everywhere between the loom and the ECU connectors:

Just out of shot is a ton of connections, neatly done, each with its own tiny heat-shrink, but why? Historically this car has an expensive history of power steering issues. I am fortunate to have PYXi here to back-to back with, and it may be this festival of colour is a yellow herring and isn't to blame. The work is incredibly neat to be fair. On the other hand, the Pro-Boost was fine and ran PYXi O.K. afterwards (with PS), and the Sport's ECU went back in and it all ran just as before. Therefore I think the PS went downhill as a result of the wiring being disturbed in the ECU area. Perhaps there are two issues, one wiring as shown, plus something somewhere else.
Otherwise, quite amazingly this FSi has no engine codes, no engine light and the flap actuator and arm all seems A-OK and move freely without feeling as though anything is amiss.
Oh yes, every bit of trim within 50 paces of the loom looks to have been on and off about 623 times. Every man and his herring have been in there.
