Put my car into garage on Thursday morning to have a nsf lower arm +console fitted and two front strut bearings and the abs problem on osf wheel , was meant to get I think back Friday around 5 but got a call asking if I needed it back that day as they were having problems with the arm so collection wa spit off till Saturday lunchtime, then on Saturday got another call saying they could do the arm as they couldn't get one to fit they tried Euro car parts dingbro and dunlops all parts suppliers and none fitted , so was told I'd be better getting one from Audi dealer directly, so I got the car back with osf strut nearing done , has anyone else had this problem with these ?

Is this the same question that I answered on FB? If so, I believe all arms are the same, petrol or diesel. I have personally fitted diesel arms to a petrol and they are definitely the same.
I think you may need a new mechanic.

Is your car no older than i 2003?

Guessing it has cast/forged arms?

Is so these arms for the diesel especially are hard to get but the later pressed arms with bolt on ball joints fit all models some do list a diesel/petrol difference but yet to discover what this difference is?

If this is the same question on FB the mechanic was saying the shaft that goes into the bush is too big. I don’t believe there are different sizes.

Just called tips and have been told audi discontinued making them 3 years ago so they are now obsolete ? ?

The levers are the same, the difference is in the silent blocks and their correct installation!
8Z0 407 182 B - petrol
8Z0 407 182 С - disel

You can buy analogs of BGA TRC0180 + OEM silent blocks + supports

I did like this -

Can you explain this a bit more what you done here and bought and from where and Di you have the same problem with your tdi ? Thanks
Smashed a small silent block. and a ball tip.
I decided to replace everything ..
I bought it in Belarus, but you can probably buy you according to the articles.

You can read more with the translation here ... I do not speak English ((

Just checked with meyle and they replied " we don't do any that are suitable for your vehicle , I'm at a loss what to do now

So what exactly are you wanting to replace. Cast or pressed arms. Your car is probably around the change between cast and pressed arms. Note if you go for pressed arms most only list near side. This is true but they are symmetrical and flipped over and the ball joint bolted on the other side a left can become a right and a right can become a left. I suppose it is too complicated to list as universal especially since the cast are definitely handed.

AFAIK The geometry of the A2 front suspension has not changed over the various models (except for the 1.2tdi). The pressed steel are a replacement for the cast ones on the early models and will fit. It is believed that there is variation in the rubber bushes between petrol and diesel so make sure you find the right one for your car.

But only the bushes that press into the console are different, the actual arms are the same as far as I'm aware.
