Today I.....

Discovered what the rattling was from the drivers side of the car, replacement recommendations anyone? To be honest I’ve not felt any difference during the last few weeks since I noticed the noise!

This is my first chance of being able to look see with the wheels off

Personally I would replace with genuine Audi springs but others will be along shortly to advise on cheaper alternatives.

I used KYB springs on my A2 when they had both snapped.

I’ve used KYB a lot over the years on many of my projects and found them to be good value and very robust.

My springs were £35 for the pair

Fitted two lovely new @depronman wiper arm refurbs to two two cars and half a pair of heated mirrors to my project car. The passenger side mirror housing had the heating wires tucked away in the factory 18 years ago, and as the first person to unwind them, it was my luck to find that one of the female connectors had corroded through completely so the plastic socket came off in my fingers.. leaving one wire with a corroded end piece (the other is intact) ... going to try cleaning it up and seeing what I can solder on in its place.

Today I treated Spud to a set of blue led interior bulbs.
Whilst fiddling with the front lights tried the BSS switch.
Behold I now have an OSS again, so spent a few minutes cleaning the seals and rolling the roof back n forth. Result!

Does that mean that you’ve found the holy grail to fixing BSS, fit internal blue led bulbs... ?

Seriously, good news Bob.

Oh that it were that simple. I have no idea why it stopped some months ago, nor why its decided to work again. Maybe its temperature sensitive!
