A fair bit of elbow grease later...

Cheers buddy, again, immensely kind comments. She is sporting your excellent number plate surrounds too - top quality items.

Darren,

Your stunning A2 always responds well to a bit of TLC and you have an amazing ability to catch the fruits of your efforts just right with the angle of the camera.

Looks superb Sir.

I must get the polishers out and have an afternoon of A2 pampering.

Kind regards,

Tom

What an amazing result! To bring that car so beautifully clean and glossy back from that state is a LOT of work, plus the dark paint ? Congratulations from a fellow compulsive cleaner who couldn’t refrain from cleaning his car yesterday despite a back pain ?

Thanks very much indeed Andy, very kind. From one with similar physical ailments and a similar compulsion (normally), I get it. :) Speedy recovery and hope you are not suffering today.

Wow!! Always said this was one of the most special A2s in the UK 'fleet' back to the days it was in Jeffers care - however you've undoubtedly taken it to a new high DC. A beautiful example in stunning order with one of the lowest mileages too. Think the only person needing convincing of this is you Darren as you are soooooo pernickety. ???
One of the star attractions at any social event . Car and its keepers. Just a beautiful car ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Bob. I had another twinge of sciatica which took me to my knees last night when torqueing the wheel bolts. A warning shot across the bows that I need to keep on top of her in moderation rather than binge cleaning. I'm firing on two of my four cylinders still, sign I need a good service myself... ooh err...

Hope you and Janet are keeping well.
Darren, yes both still breathing thanks!
Do take care, it's sooo easy to overdo things. Will you be going to AITP? If so, bring the kids and we will bring Zosha!

Thanks pal. I’m happy to apply some TLC to yours one day. I found it therapeutic washing your stalwart chariot last time, I’d relish the challenge of taking that a stage further. Perhaps when you are next down South we can combine a visit.

And so you should be! It's also proof that there's hope for my A2's paintwork. :D

Bless you, sincerely overwhelmed, thanks mate. ? ❤️ Thanks to everyone for their appreciation and kindness.

Possibly mate, not firmed things up as yet. Be grand to see the three of you if we do. I'll keep you posted. Thanks pal.

That would be excellent on many counts. ?

Thanks James, I'm still pleased with my choice years later. Wheels can very much make or break a car and moving away from OEM isn't always to everyones taste. But this you know too. Your choices look great to my eyes in equal measure.

I'd forgotten how good those wheels look. AMAZING

If ever you are bored one weekend, please feel free to come and detail mine...I have detailed loads of sellers, but sadly I haven't got round to doing my keeper for a couple of years now, a quick wash and hoover doesn't quite cut it when I see what you have done...no doubt the shame will get the better of me next time I have a 'spare' day!!!!! What the hell is one of those I hear you all scream!
nice work, take a bow sir.
Andy

? Trust me Andy, finding that spare day (or three) was incredibly hard work, much to the dismay of my family. It was a necessity as much as anything else and hopefully I can now get away with some light washes for a while. If I'm ever down your neck of the woods for a bit, I'll happily oblige. Always a pleasure to spend time with A2 owners and their cars. All the best.

Thanks Steve, that's incredibly kind mate. Welcome to the club and the community.

Importantly, there is absolutely no snobbery to be found here. Car and condition are irrelevant, we are a family orientated community driven by our passion for the small aluminium hatch from Audi. Once the socials are back up and running, and if this is your thing, it would be good to meet you and your new car.

Having bought a cheap A2 with the intention of not doing this, I shouldn't have read this post and looked at those pics - great job Sir. Stunning finish.
Steve

Darren that is a great transformation.
I love the look of your A2, the wheels really set the car off very nicely.
I love reading threads like this as it shows me what I can achieve with mine.
