Today I.....

Do the A8 wheels need adapters?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Morning,

Yes they do.

These A8 wheels are 5x 112 PCD with the same CB (57.1mm).

You can either use the adapters or get them re-drilled to 5x100 PCD. This is possible with the A8 D2 wheels as they are forged Alloy (strong enough) and are ‘full material’ in between each existing PCD hole.

@Menno has them fitted to his A2 and look great.

These are also fitted to @Erlingtheyounger ’s A2 with adapters.

Kind regards,

Tom

@Joga , do you know you make a lot of people sad here? All cars (except blue because I cannot see very clear) do have headlight washers.......if I was you I would buy a lottery ticket, you Sir..... are a very lucky Sir ?

they used to be attached to a tax break here....i think i might need to visit Sweden when we're allowed to travel again :)

New boots here, Yoko Bluearth 195/50R15. Wanted to go 16, can't justify the cost for the looks.

Today I learnt to not drop the bleed screw for the webasto ?‍♂. Had to take the wheel off and remove the arch liner to retrieve it

@hydo14 any chance you can post a picture of the Webasto bleed screw for the benefit of others. ( preferably in the location it is in service rather than down inside the arch liner );)

Swapped the A2 as daily for a 13 plate Alfa Romeo Giulietta in Etna Black.

Keeping the A2 just need to find someone to fix the starting issues, engine runs perfect on 102k, and the car is in excellent condition just can't rely on it to get me anywhere without it leaving me stranded.

Many happy years with the A2 but it doesn't have a Dynamic mode.

Now that's a car that will empty your bank balance. They are lovely looking cars and the interiors are very high quality it's just a shame they have a terrible reputation for reliability. I hope it runs well for you as it does look very nice?

I have posted a picture in an older thread to hopefully make it easy to find when searching https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/bleeding-webasto.43749/post-443442

Taking this picture reminded me how hateful the location of the blots for the strut mount are on RHD cars.

Not heard too many reliability horror stories with the Giulietta, full service and oil change every year, belts every four years and it should be fine. This one is the 1.6 diesel on 90k miles but it's a different animal to the chattery diesel in the A2. I don't do many miles these days. less than 5k a year so fingers crossed. I've seen them with 150k - 200k miles, a few have over 300k miles so they are a fairly robust unit on the face of it.

I admit I'm only going by the brand in general and can't say I know about the Giulietta from any experience, I honestly do hope you have a good one as it is a lovely looking car, not bad for a daily runner i'd say. It must be quite rapid compared to the A2.

Today I am over the moon!

Project 250 failed its MOT but only on brake disks being heavily corroded on the inside edge.

The brake test showed the whole braking system to be functioning perfectly so still really happy.

I’m sure a quick trip to ECP this afternoon will solve this issue and see it fly through the retest.

Purchasing a vehicle this cheap was always a gamble but it looks like all will be good.

Kind regards,

Tom
So your brakes worked fine but were corroded, thats not a reason for rejection!
Pass and advise!

Just bought a cheap ratchet from Lidl, check out the manufacturing location!

It fails to state "Made In Germany" all Germany means is that it passed thru Germany. Quality however will be how it stands the test of time!

@A2Steve you made that A2 look the business mate, love the colour combination and smoothed in votex kit, it just goes to show you can make an A2 unique and your own. Top job sir.
