Hi,
Spotted a leak on the new 1.4tdi 90 atl. Can anyone shed light on what looks to be culprit this round bit with wires on please? Oil seems to be starting there and going behind Oil filter. Thanks for any advice!

The round thing is the electrical connector for the fuel injector wiring harness. The design incorporates an o-ring seal IIRC.

Looks to be injector wiring loom letting by
Clean + Resealing may work
But having a new loom handy in case it's become fragile with heat and age may be prudent if it's your only means of transport

First ever forum you must rolling your eyes!! Sorry

No problem at all!

If you search ebay for “Injector Wiring Loom 045971600” then you’ll see pictures of the spare part for an idea of the seal location.

Unfortunately, although cheaper, the swap of the O ring for a new one involves the same amount of work to completely replace the injector loom. Please do not be tempted to bodge the leak with silicone or other liquid gasket.

Fantastic thanks you!

The loom seal\tandem pump oil leak will be tackled after I've found the oil cooler area leak. Last owner had a crank sensor fitted recently so guessing there was a re-use of cooler housing seal to block or the filler pipe split. Either way when engines running the oil is dripping out at fair rate so can't drive it till fixed. Undertray soaked in oil and sump plastered in it.

Evening, I discovered the leak was two fold, the rear of the rocker gasket and the oil cooler seals plus the unit seal to the block itself. Fortunately the plastic pipe lives another day. While the rocker was off the timing belt was inspected to find it was worn so that was done too with ina kit and pump. New g12 coolant and she's back on the road with no leaks!
