Collated "Group Buy" Volico paint request for Rickmeister

Dave, I have used it with great success. As long as the plastic to be coloured is clean and dust free and the soft touch is removed then so far I have never found a need to primer. That said if the existing paint is breaking down then I would suggest using the primer first, also if the surface is porous. If you are recolouring fabric or leather then I would use primer, the colour and then top coat. The top coat adds extra wear resistance so say on switch gear very useful. Again as yet not needed to use any top coat. Ultimately you will have to decide if either are needed for your application. You can always spray top coat on after but obviously not primer. I also do not know how well Volico paint works with other primers or top coats. Volico is trusted by OEMs.
Thanks for that - nice to hear from someone who has actually used the product - I realised it was a good product- just wanted info on primer and top coat
Brilliant response as always from club members
Cheers Dave

Evening Dave,

Apologies for being late to the party here.

I’ve used Halfords Plastic Primer (on a Space Floor Box) with the Volico Paint, no reaction either observed over the last year. I have also used some WLW lacquer as a top coat on the Volico paint and again no reaction.

Kind regards,

Tom

Thanks Tom - good to know some other lower cost alternatives if you can’t quite stretch to the originals
?

All looking good.... thanks for helping organise this.
I'll get the tanker fired up!

Another thing to throw into the mix with this amount is post direct from Germany to each member, or a bundled post to one person and redistribute in teh UK (how feasible this is, I'm unsure).

There will be a good saving on the post to me though.
When it all arrives I will get both a bundled price and a per tin post price then you can decide.

I have room to receive and split out the bundle, only thing will be if I can get my hands on some more packaging.

Polite notice to all... Today is the LAST date for placing your Volico paint request. There is no extension on the date. This is to allow Rick ( thank you again ) the time to process the order and receive it back to him before other commitments.

Two cans of Swing Grey please. Thank you @audifan

I would like to thank all those that has registered their interest in ordering Volico paint. The order is now closed. Rick will pick this up and complete the actual order. Once he has received the order and figured out how to forward it with the new customs regulations he will be in touch with you all.

Remember Rick is paying for the order up front with his own funds so please be prompt when requested to pay him. This is a great service and would be a real shame for it not to be available in the future due to non or late payments.

I can still be the point of contact for any questions etc.

Lastly even I have been surprised at the level of interest shown here by the members, many of which have never used , or even aware of the Volico paint until now. It is a great product.

Morning everyone,
Thanks to Audifan for helping to collate this. The order is now closed. I have a screen shot of the table on page one of who, what and how many or which and this is what I'll order today. If its not on page one, it's not on the order.

A quick reminder why we are doing this: One member tried to buy from this site in Germany and ended up with an aggressive/abusive message from the owner who refused the order hence the round the houses approach.

I'll put all this into a spreadsheet and go from there. For speed and convenience I do pay upfront to get the order rolling and check everything matches the order when it arrives. Then I ask for reimbursement before onward post to the uk. I want to get this all turned around before I drive to Croatia 25th Sept.

More to follow today.

I am excite !

Paint. Its ordered and "in the system" €701 is the big number. I hope the people at Volico are sitting down...

All items shown as "in stock" as of the order today when I placed it.

The amounts and type are easily seen... all done.

€701 is indeed a big number but its sorted and done. I used PayPal 14 days then pay, so nothing from my bank yet. Hopefully this gives a bit of a process window.

Next steps from group buy members please, some of you I know already, some are new colleagues...

Mail me to [email protected] title.... Paint (only this please so I can find it quickly in gmail)
Include forum name and obviously what you ordered.
Then I can track and match everything.

The paint price is clearly shown on the jpeg above and when it arrives I will split the post across 17 members who ordered. This will cover the cost of the paint to me. I'll then check the order and decide (perhaps with Erlingtheyounger- thanks for your offer), on onward post. This may be in two bundles for obvious reasons.

This will be the point I ask for reimbursement and I will mail this direct via gmail, not through the forum. As soon as it gets posted on, it's yours as you can imagine returns would be awkward. Post has been very reliable and I use DHL from my end to Royal Mail at yours.

So, sit back and relax as you will be busy painting very soon!
R
