Massive brake repair or a scam?

Decided to sell it. I miss it :( But I came to the conclusion that this car needs to be fixed by someone who can do it himself because the labour rates are just too high for full brake overhaul, cambelt change (the last cambelt change @ 227k km was actually falsified in the service history which was clearly visible from the belt ) and possibly the clutch which had a high biting point. Also the car was hardly in mint condition, with a deep scratch on the driver side door, tobacco smell inside, broken hatch oil dipstick and some issues with soundproofing at the back. Despite all these facts, it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

My car was MY2001 produced in October 2000. Seems like a lot of electric issues seem to pop up for this old a car: CCCU, instrument cluster, indicator click... I was afraid that more would come like door modules. And as obvious from my earlier posts, capital region roads in Finland especially earlier had heavy road salt so the bottom of the car was quite rusty.

It's also the busiest time of the year at my work, so not enough energy to deal with a car that can't even hold brake fluid. A bit tempted to go for another A2 but I'd probably be pretty annoyed if I got any of the same issues. Might go for Audi A1 or BMW i3 later. Thanks for all the help and the best of luck with your A2s.

It's sensible, a pragmatic decision. I admire your honesty to yourself, a rare quality, which I, sadly, don't have!
Mac.
