Cheap car tracker

If you’re an iPhone owner, the new Air Tag works really well as a car tracker / locator for just £29. I’ve stuck one inside the headliner under my OSS and voila!

Oh, and I’m currently walking to it so it won’t be there in 5 minutes!

This is a great idea

Anyone using key finders /trackers alternatively to creating a spare key so you don't lose your only key? I am on Android (not Samsung) so the above wouldn't do I suppose? I am looking at chipolo

Never ever only have one key. Even if you just get a plastic valet key that will get you out of trouble . Even more so one that takes an ID48 chip.

Have a look at the Vodafone curve, it uses phone signal though

To track a car, you need a car tracker device, and a subscription to a service provider.
Apple tags rely on other iPhoned picking up your tag, via Bluetooth, and then passing the location back to a server, where you can retrieve it. So not a means of tracking a stolen car. Unless your car thief has an iPhone and leaves it close to the stolen car, with location and Bluetooth on, 24/7.
Mac.

Yeah, it’s better than nothing but not as good as a proper tracker. It should also alert someone if it’s following them which makes me wonder if you’ve got a passenger, will they get pinged and be more annoying than practical?

The Vodafone curve is £3 a month which I didn't think was too bad, plus its tiny, about the diameter of a apple tag but about 20 mm thick

The cheap devices aren't really trackers, they help you find things you've missplaced, they use Bluetooth to communicate, so range is very short.
Mac.

The curve uses actual phone signal rather than Bluetooth, I had one on my model rocket and could still track it 4km away from me in the the middle of nowhere!
