Well I fitted the spare Tandem pump the other day with a new gasket, and guess what, it made no difference whatsoever doh!
So back to square one, what am I doing wrong?
So I put a bit of clear pipe on the inlet to the pump and checked for air, and there was loads..
So where is it coming from, and how am I going to find the leak?
First I took the feed pipe from the sender and ran another pipe from it into a fuel can, still got air. The problem is it is very hard to be sure that it is not the various connections that you have to make that are actually introducing the air.
Anyway, next up I took out the filter and managed to connect a pipe up into the feed to the pump and into a fual can.
This time no air coming through, yay some kind of progress.
So I figured it must be either the filter cap or bleed screw, so I had a look at them. I have the depronman ally bleed fitting and all new O rings, so It's hard to know what could be wrong. I poked a bit of O ring up the bleed hole to plug it just in case.
Back together I checked again, and still air.. Aaaarrgghh
So is the problem maybe between the filter and the tank? I think next I will try to get a pipe onto the feed to the filter and connect it to a fuel tank and see if that helps..
