Thinking of going this way myself is the required loom the one that plugs into the air bag and passes thru the wheel to the squib ring?

Yes it's a very simple plug and play just make sure you disconnect the battery, leave for 10mins then switch the lights on to remove any residual power just to make sure you don't set the air bag off.
