Hi!
I have noticed yesterday after driving my mom's car, "The Diva" 1.2TDI A2 3L automatic that there is a siren noise(high pitch) and a metal grinding Rattle on the overrun especially in 4th and 5th gear. If I press the accelerator just a little bit, 1-5% (still no power) the sound goes away. Still no sound when accelerating or in neutral even if it rolls or stands still. I have scanned the car and there are no codes shown. Also, the car drives well, still has plenty of power (62hp when eco mode is off hehe). I have read things about DMF(don't know if it has one or it is SMF) or clutch, aswell the turbo (I know it is VNT). The car has revived 10.000km ago a new clutch kit(bearing, plate and disc) and a gearbox adaptation at a local 1.2TDi 3L specialist here in Romania (Lupo and A2). Back then when he drove the car told that the car is in verry good shape.
Also read things about Egr valve beeing clogged up... I really don't know what to start with.
What is your opinion?
Thanks!

There's no DMF. Is it something simple like a stone trapped between one of the brake discs and the guard? Do you drive in manual or auto mode?

It does not matter the way it is driven. If it is auto and eco mode on, when rolling and you release accelerator, it starts coasting. No noise then. At the first press of the brake pedal it engages proper gear and the noise starts. If you press accelerator even a tiny bit the noise goes away. May be the engine mounts gone and engine might move back and forth more on overrun and there is a tension at some components like axles or something...?

How many kilometres has it done? How much engine oil does it use? My money would be on the big ends rattling a bit but if the the oil consumption is low, I wouldn't worry about it. When I had it, my 1.2Tdi used to do that but only when the engine was hot.

The car has around 280.000km with full history, the oil needs a chance since it has almost 10,000kms and since the clutch service, it passed over 7000kms. We did not added any oil for the last 10.000kms. The dipstick was on high and now it is somewhere in the middle.
You also could be right since the noise and clatter seems to amplify after driving some distances.
