Hi,

Had a nasty moment yesterday, pulled up at roundabout and huge beep and warning of coolant level, as id had this warning a lot recently (ill explain) I drove on just 500yrd to destination. Also car temp gauge was "hot" but not max. The recent issue was a lower new seal on the "death pipe" which was leaking and new thermostat housing due to an old repair being suspect and I finally sourced the right housing. I had been losing coolant and only done 1 school run since this work so originally assumed it was levels and needed a tiny top up.

Anyway it wasn't that, the lower coolant hose (the one you remove to drain) had come off. This was either me being an idiot and not seating it properly post the work, or the clip had failed due to being disturbed and refitted. I recovered the car this AM and its in the barn awaiting inspection.

So after all that.....

Does the lower hose to the radiator have an O ring? I ordered a new clip PN 1J0121142, but not sure if I need a O ring as mine might be living its best life on the A30!

I am breaking an AUA at the moment, have removed this pipe, I am sure no O ring there just the metal clip to secure the pipe in position, it makes a click sound when it is correctly secured in place, the metal springy clip get rusty sometimes need a bit of duck oil.
