1.4 petrol?

Hi All,

Just a small question about buying an A2.

What kind of car would I be looking at for £4500:confused::confused:

I'd love a little A2, but my budget may be a little tight.:(

I've seen a few 1.4 petrols about this mark and one or two TDi's.

Would a 100,000m + car be good, i know about the cambelt before 80,000 thing, and if thats true, plus the ally body, would they be worth considoring?

I'm handy around cars, so general stuff wouldn't be a problem if they were due to need it.

Thanks, All

J,

there are no instructions from Audi for changing the belt on the 1.4 petrol, so each dealer has his theory on the subjet.
BTW, I bought 4 month ago a late 2000 1.4 petrol with 135.000km on the clock (that's around 84K miles) and full service history. The price was a little over £4500, but my A2 has lots of optional extras (open sky, climate, leather, etc.) So far I'm very pleased with it. I'll probably have the cambelt changed within one year, maximum. It hasn't been changed so far.

Theres a couple of cars in your price range on Pistonheads. Both have nice spec inc. open sky roof. The following link is a car at £5k, but you'd maybe get a discount? Looks like a good one, on an 02 plate with 64k, full history and a cambelt change already done. Even though I have just bought a car after 6 months of looking i'm still addicted to the classifieds so i'll PM you if I see anything nice under 5k. Try eBay and Autotrader as well, but look for a fellow A2OC member in your area with Vag Com. The friendly and helpful troops on here might be able to Scan your prospective purchase for faults at a fraction of the cost Audi would charge, and they probably know far more about A2's to boot. Good luck finding a car. You won't regret it - the A2 is brilliant! :)

I'll let my 1.4 model go for £3800. Just serviced today and Mot'ed. Tax until late year - can't remember really.

Anyone interested can come and have a look. We are moving abroad.
