Is there a difference between the FSI and TDi gearbox oil?

Going to change the oil but want to get the right stuff ??

It should be the same for both fsi and tdi.
Use VAG oil or Castrol TAF-X.

Yes. Again, experience using anything other than the two listed above is limited. TAF-X was tested by quite a few German board members at one point but dropped again.

I believe i have CASTROL SYNTRANS Manual Transmission Oil in mine (75W-80 was the spec i think?) and it does the job perfectly fine though i need to lubricate the tower up as it is a bit rough.

Ran Fuchs Titan in another and that did perfectly fine too, not had a problem with either after over a year, just shifting as normal

The Redline gearbox oils are absolutely top quality stuff and worth a look if you can get the correct grade for a reasonable price. They are what I use in all my vehicles for a super-slick change and potentially a little better fuel economy too.
