1.4tdi starting probs

My 1.4tdi seems to be developing a starting problem . It will start ok from hot or cold engine temps, will start ok in sub zero temps but for some reason it has refused to start on a number of occasions .Engine was warm on all occasions, the engine turns over, all ignition lights, on all systems say go, no start. Try again no start 3rd attempt engine starts and we are off. Help love the wee motor but its making my bum twitch every time I switch off in case she goes in the huff and refuses to take me home:confused:
 
:confused: Hi spike had a look my prob is identical I'm leaning towards a crankshaft sensor or fuel cut off solenoid if there is one at the pump. Don't know much about the fuel system on this wee car but there must be some way of isolating the fuel when the ignition is switched off. Its totally sporadic which makes it difficult to trace if I get anywhere I will let everyone know.

Hi Davidmac,

my problem is still occurring but not that frequent so I'm just going to wait to take it in for its service in September and see what they say then. The only difference with my problem though is that my car actually starts and then cuts out.

no problem Damien I intend to investigate when I get time I will keep everyone posted if I find anything:confused:
