i would say its all part of the fsi character. my one does the same. cheers mike

Well I would say we have the same problem :) and i don't think it is normal. Before i exchanged fuel injection (2 of them) it was even worse (wavings)

What about engine temperature ? When im driving it is near 90C (194 F) but when car is neutral it goes even up to 105C ( 221 F ) like u can see on logs.

Hi i have had all injectors changed for new ones. This was due to having two that were failed leading to the engine not being able to run at all. The process of diagnosis for this was very involved due to none of the error codes ever pointing to injector problems. In diagnosing the problem i also noted that the engine temp-in vagcom was higher than the car dashboard. The technician explained that this is normal and that the audi dash temp gauge is often referred to as a "happy gauge" due to it only ever reporting 90.
i would be tempted to suggest a throttle body clean and re adaption in vagcom or what ever you are using(vaglog)

Ref the temp gauge - when the engine is up to temperature its designed to read a steady 90C even though the actual coolant temp may be several degrees either side of the gauge reading. Water flow through the radiator is very low at idle speeds and this can cause the coolant temp to go higher than normal. Even though the logged temp is 105, I'd expect the gauge to read closer to 90C.
Its a long time since 've owned a petrol car but did have one with a similar idle speed problem. In my case it turned out to be a lazy lambda sensor which was not fine tuning the idle mixture fast enough, causing the speed to wander. Sometimes the engine would almost die, then suddenly recover and over rev.

Cheers Spike

Agree with regards to temp gauge.
Rpm drop at startup also normal?, same happens with my car.

Thanks for help. One new log :) : http://vaglog.rtnet.pl/grom546_102904.html
As you can see temp went to 111C (231,8F) but then temp lowered to 102C (215,6F). I think i have something wrong with my coolant fan. I will try to check it in VAG.

In few days i will clean my

What about that? I want to add that somethimes it doesn't happen. And never on cold car.
