[1.6 FSI Manifold Flap Calibration] - Removal, fixing, refitting

Hi all,

The manifold flap actuator arm had been broken for quite some time and was repaired recently after a complete teardown. I have read in ELSA that a recalibration via the diagnostic interface is needed. Does anyone know if this is actually the case or does the ECU go through the entire range of movement at startup anyway.

Regards,
Evros

I believe this is the procedure:

Intake Manifold Runner
Prerequisites:

  • Ignition ON
  • Engine OFF
  • System voltage at least 11.0 V.
[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 142
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
Wait until Field 4 shows "ADP. O.K.".
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

  • Switch Ignition OFF for at least 60 seconds.

Hi and thanks for the information. I was only wondering on whether the ECU does this on its own on startup, as I do not have a VCDS device and I have to borrow it from @67boris all the time.

This advice, copied from the Ross-Tech website without any link back, doesn't apply to the BAD engine and won't work.
