Hi all, we have one of the above, and I often see articles referring to the 'Death pipe', on the engine, on these vehicles. Can someone please tell me what this is, I believe it is something to do with the cooling, and is it possible to obtain the part/s to replace/repair it ? Thank you.
 
You can buy the pipe for as little as £12 though fitting cost would be a lot more than that as it is hidden in the back of the engine, time consuming & hard to get to.

Thank you Ami, fortunately it doesn't require it at present, but I might buy one just in case. Do you know where I could obtain one please ?

Yes, just press the link for eBay, the pipe is black too so it will match your car color :D the best color for A2, I have 3 of them.
 
If you don’t require it immediately I would consider waiting until the currently in development stainless steel pipe is available

I don’t have the thread handy but if you search I’m sure it will pop up

Ok more than 20, but once done, done forever and should not fail

Black it may be, but Not metallic. It's plastic. Got one two weeks ago from Autodoc, German made Meyle for £12.
