Correct A1 wheels, Keeping tyres as are I’m led to believe that they will fit although I’ve not tested fitting as yet, I’ll let you know how I get on once I do.

I've had these wheels and tyres on for several months, very happy with them. They feel fairly comfortable without too much roll(compared to my 185/60R15 winter setup and the wifes 205\45R17 though these are noticeably nicer than the previous 40s). Fit is fine for me(std suspension).

Interested to hear how you get on, are they Dunlop Fast response? My current tyres are getting past their best though they'll be swapped for my winter wheels in the coming weeks.

Yes they are Dunlops FastStreet response, I think these have been superseded by Bluresponse now.

Talking about the Pepperpots in german "Dial Disk Telephone" Wheels...since they are the the lightest wheels with about 6.6 kg...why don´t you guys go for 155 65 15 mounting on the TDI ? In my COC of my ATL the 155 65 15 are allowed. That means more then 1.5 litre less fuel consumption comparing to the S Line 205 40 17...you could drive a very efficient car with 155 or 165 or put 205 50 15 with lower springs and the Audi looks very sporty...

I read it as Certificate of Conformity, I think that might be more of a thing with the TUV over in Germany than it is with the MOT here.
yes..certificate of conformity COC.
you are allowed to fit tyres on only which are listed in the COC because of the speedometer. All other dimensions need to be proven if its conform with the speedometer (tacho). and of course free of contact to the chassis like the offset of the wheel....

I have seen on gumtree people selling alloy wheels for a2 with 205 55 16 and 195 65 15. Theses are sizes you would never get permitted in Germany unless you set the tacho and adjust it to the new dimensions...if you dont and you get into an accident you won´t have insurance cover cause your car wasn´t legal to participate the public traffc...
