2002 A2 1.4SE petrol owner - only had it 2 weeks and hoping I've not made a mistake!

Hi everyone

I'd had my eye on an A2 for ages, purely because of the shape - it's different and I like that.

I managed to find a reasonably priced 1 owner A2 1.4SE petrol in Azure Blue which had done 107,000 miles. The miles nearly put me off but the condition of the car and the fact it had only ever been to an Audi dealer for servicing and repair swayed me and I took the plunge!

Two weeks later I've found an intermittent fault which could prove quite dangerous so I'll be posting shortly in the "Repairs - Help" section.

Fingers crossed I've not bought a bad one!

Hi,

firstly 107K miles is not high, over 11 years that is 10K a year and that is fine. If the car has been well maintained then the mileage is fine.

You will get the occasional error at some stage, it just sounds like you haven't had chance to "bond" with the car before your first problem. So don't start to get negative vibes just yet.

I am sure you will get lots of help when you let us know the errors that is showing.

Some can be scary when you see them but often not that bad. But if there are red icons then be very careful and you shouldn't drive until it has been investigated.

So give your car a chance first, they really are great cars, but even great cars do have the occasional problem.

Fingers crossed yours should be fine.

Thanks very much for your reply Steve - I appreciate it.

I'm certainly not writing her off as a problem car just yet - more steeling myself for spending a few quid :)
