Guys, which one? I have 16x7 wheels and need summer tyres. Comfort vs fit vs other aspects.... any experiences or advice? Thanks
David

Study this thread, then come to your own conclusion.

I have studied that ultimate thread and there is lot of informations. Really LOT :) but still dont have a clear answer. Both dimensions are in comments as suitable, in many comments is missing width of rims and thats why info bout tyres is useless. Thats i want to know some real experience from someone, who can definitely say 205/50 will fit but spewdo is lower than actual speed or will prove its ok. Or 195/50 better?

I have 205/55 on TT alloys and they rub at the back on bumps or with load and on the from when hard locking turns. My alloys do push the wheels right out to the edge of the arch though.

I reckon 205/50 (which is about 10mm smaller) will fit no problem and quite a fair few on here run that size.

205/45 is effectively stock size - apparently the speed runs about 3% under at this size.

I too am swithering about which smaller size to go for so will watch responses with interest and until then will continue with my 205/55 and a lightly laden car driving slowly over bumps.

Yep; TÜV / "technická kontrola". Your CoC / Part I could be important, depends on how picky they are. Here they care up to a point, but there are specific rules I have to abide by.
If you want handling, 195/45R16. If you want more comfort, 205/55R16 is too big for legal reasons. 205/45R16 is questionable, but should work. What springs / dampers are in? What wheels?

If you are interested in handling and road grip plus ride comfort, I can heartily recommend 215/45x16 Nokian Blue2's on the 7x16 ET35 Audi A1 rims.
No rubbing or scrubbing. Phenomenal grip, low noise, great wet performance too...
I "upgraded" to the A1 10-spoke rims from the original 17" RS 9-spokes that came on the S-line 1.6 FSI that were just too harsh ride-wise.
I tried to add some photos for you, but evidently the files were too large (any tips??).

Hmm, thanks for tip, but i bought 195/45 nokian few days ago. My friend is working with tyres, he has software with advice and comments next to each tyre and these 195/45 were without any comment for a2, with no need to modifications, so i decided for them. Hope it will fit, next week i am going to put on the new wheels. Will let u know

Just reduce them with something to under 3mb.The something depends on what IT platform you use e.g. I use Paint on my Microsoft based desktop, (there is a resize option on the main toolbar) and I used a free very simple to use app called SimpleResize, from the App Store on my IPad, presumably available on iPhone.

Cannot help if your pictures are on some other make of phone, if you say what it is I am sure somebody can help.

Andy

Edit. If you wish to preserve the oriiginal at their full size then check if the reduced image replaces the original and save the reduced image by a different name.
