That's good to know Darren Thank you. It is required for night time only, but it is a must unfortunately. I really hope this can be sorted as both myself and Angie need a weekend away to unwind a bit?
Hi Mark - yes, you are allocated an electric spot.
Im just waiting to hear from the campsite owner as to how and when she wants paying and will post all details, plus the itinerary and events for the weekend. Really look forward to seeing you both again

That's fantastic news, thank you Teresa. We are both very much looking forward to seeing yourself and some new faces too.

Focussing on outdoor events, that make social distancing much easier, we are pleased to offer a weekend social that will have camping facilities available at an excellent camp site.

https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=10725

We have sole use of the site over the weekend, so although the camp site is normally adults only, children and dogs are welcome.

We are also pleased to advise that this will be a joint social with our friends at the A2 Owners Group.

Prices

Caravan/Motorhome pitch with electric hook up - £18.50 per night (5 pitches available)

Non electric camping pitch - £15 per night (at least 10 pitches available, but could probably fit more in)

On site bed and breakfast (2 double rooms - £85 per room, per night)

(Onsite camping/accommodation may be available on Friday night also)

Day visit only - £5 per car

Off Site accommodation – There is a Travelodge and Holiday Inn at Scotch Corner about 15 minutes’ drive from the site

Things to do

There will be a large barn available for anyone who wishes to work on their car. We are aware that some members do provide services and we are happy for anyone wishing to attend and offer their services to add to this thread to let people know that they are attending and the services you provide (please note that normal club rules apply in terms of services provided and A2OC does not accept any liability for any losses or damages from the use of services provided by another member – full rules around member services can be found here)

In addition to loving our A2s. there is a huge amount to do in the area:-

  • Visit the Bowes Museum
  • Ravenseat Farm Tearoom (Location of the TV Series Our Yorkshire Farm
  • Drive around the Dales (suggested route to follow)
  • Visit to Barnard Castle (eye test optional)
We will develop a schedule of events for the weekend and hope that you will be able to join us for the weekend or even just a day.

Booking

If you would be interested in attending, please complete the RSVP above, and indicate whether you would prefer;

Caravan – electric hook up

Caravan/camping – non electric

Bed and breakfast

We will collate the preferences and then liaise directly to allocate slots. We will need to take payment in advance, but this will be refundable in the event that we have to cancel the weekend4
Hi Teresa, I’d be looking to do a day visit on Sunday, not overnight, do I need to book.

Hi George, thank you - thats fine, but pop your name in the RSVP at the top. No need to do anything else for a day visit. look forward to seeing you :)

Hi everyone, just under a couple of weeks and we can now share details of the planned activities for the weekend. We know that some people will want to spend some time at the site either working on their cars, or having things done to them, but will also want to get out and about. Therefore we have put together the following itinerary of optional activities

Saturday Morning - arrival and set up (some of us are arriving friday night)
Saturday Afternoon - Dales Drive https://goo.gl/maps/qtw6UfvcbAUsRnJP7 with the possibility of a minor detour to a pub with a large car park for a photo op.
or
Visit to the Forbidden Corner This may be suitable for those with younger club members (or indeed 53 year old big kids like me) It will need to be booked however so we would need to know numbers soon. Looking at the map, it may be possible to do some of the tour and then head off at Reeth to go to the Forbidden Corner
Saturday Evening - BBQ and games - there is a BBQ on site so we were thinking people could either bring their own to BBQ, or we could provide basic, hot dog, burger (or veggie options), plus accompaniments, for £3 a head. We have some outdoor games (giant Jenga etc, to keep us entertained)
Sunday morning - drive to Barnard Castle - There is a fee to enter the Castle itself, or people may wish to just have a wander around . I will look to book a group ticket if sufficient people are interesting in visiting the castle itself
Sunday afternoon - Some people (me included sadly), may need to start to head off due to long journeys), but otherwise, we will aim to go for lunch at The Rokeby Inn (i am just confirming the maximum number they can accommodate - they also do takeaway food for anyone staying friday night)

I will try to find a way of collecting details of what people would like to do and post that asap, but just wanted to let you have a look at the plans in the meantime. Really looking forward to meeting you all

ps - i have hopefully contacted those who wanted electric hook up, or B & B, but if not, they are confirmed :)

Thankyou for all your efforts with this T. We are very much looking forward to the weekend .....please put us down for everything including the Dale's drive and a tour round the Castle if that's okay. ?

Hi Teresa,

I'm planning on coming down for the Saturday and Sunday, I've booked a hotel offsite for the Saturday night but I was wondering if I have to pay anything in advance or just pay at the gate?

Thanks,
Iain

Hi Ian, that's fine for you to pay on the day, we are just charging the £5 for people not staying over as we had to commit to a minimum amount to book the whole sit out. It's only us arranging it, so you can just catch up with me when you get there. I am staying over friday night too, so will be there when people arrive - big blue tent with bunting around the front (me) and a disco light (my chap?)
I'll post more details over the weekend
Look forward to seeing you

Morning Teresa,

We would like to pay for the Forbidden Corner if its going tin be added to the itinerary. 2x adults and 2 children (8 & 9). Happy to pay in advance direct or otherwise. Just let me know.

Kind regards,

Tom

Anyone with youngsters joining us?

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Teresa, I have put my name down for camping on Saturday night, is it ok to pitch up on the Friday?

Regards

Ian

Hi everyone, I have also booked tickets for the Forbidden Corner. Looking at the route for the tour, if you want to do the Forbidden Corner, book yourself tickets for 3 (tickets still available at the moment) and we can then break off from the Dale's tour to do the Forbidden Corner.

I will collect numbers for BBQ Barnard Castle and Sunday lunch, plus any other meals people may want organised over the weekend

Weather looking good for next weekend so far!

I know we have not yet arrived but even so @Teresa you have clearly put a lot of effort and thought into this and it really shows, well done to you and anyone else that has made this possible, we both really appreciate it.
