Okay,, new A2 arrived at 10am on Thursday,, first job was to put the new alloys on,, then sort out the security tinted film for the windows.. Looking good,, now lets drive the little buggy..
500 miles later and I am still smiling.. well sort of,, the dealer forgot to order the heated seats,, that annoyed me, even with the best “Oh I am sorry, I forgot”, I was still put out.
Didn’t realise that even on the tdi sport there are no standard carpets fitted,, so off to Halfords who are doing a nice set for the A2 for £27 and throw in the matching rear set for free.
OH, didn’t know that you had to order the floor compartment thingy in the boot as an extra,, the brochure makes it look like part of the standard set up.. So I didn’t get one but Audi say they can get one for me but guess what,, due to insurance and warranty reasons, they CAN’T fit it as it is now “after-market”..
Alright so far so good,, next week she gets chipped and the stereo project gets underway.
RE: Sound deadening,, well the door panels come off easy peasy, no problem and really no sweat.. Will document and keep you all posted. Will make precise notes of all speaker sizes depth etc and also any little install tricks worth noting.. especially the head-unit removal.
Today I will be looking at improving the sports suspension,, it is good but could be better and she needs to sit lower to really show off those shiny new wheels.
All I can say is that the wait was worth it, the looks the car gets is amazing,, it looks classy in it’s black exterior and sweet smelling new red leather interior, the tints set it off and the wheels complete it. Some of the best 500 miles fun that I have had in a long time..
