I had a look at a 1.4 petrol earlier and there are a couple of faults with it;
1/. The driver's door clunked when opened and closed. I'm guessing check strap related, is this much of an issue on the A2 9on my Polo it was a simple bolt-off change).
2/. When trying to open/close the roof there's a clunk/clicking from the motor area, is this likely to be the usual big job with cables or is there a gearbox drive thungummy that could be the culprit? It's shut and dry and a ClosedSky isn't entirely unappealing
Enginewise it felt flat when I drove it but I haven't got too much it compare it too It certainly felt lacking compared to the 1.4 8v 1999 Polo I've been driving recently though roadtests show it to be livelier. I drove a 1.4 fsi 2006 Polo earlier today and that revved freely, even from low revs in a high gear and generally felt like it had the measure of the car's weight but the A2 seemed lacking. The only other A2s I've driven thus far have been 75bhp tdis or FSIs so I haven't got anything to directly relate to
