A fair bit of elbow grease later...

I had a very productive and enjoyable weekend lavishing my A2. Having pledged to bring it back to my standard in the Today I thread, I certainly honoured this and spent a good many hours deep cleaning and machine polishing it. I’ve treated all the rubbers and black trim, put the BBS rims back on and generally poured my heart and soul into bringing it back from an appalling state. Last time it received so much attention was back in 2019 and before my sciatica and spinal surgery. I’m very pleased with the results. MOT next and then a service. I do hope we can get the socials up and running again, I’m in the mood now.

Pre condition...

Thanks buddy, appreciated and I very much hope to see you and your lovely family at some point this year all being well.

Sadly, ill health and mental health played a part in its condition, but it was very therapeutic to see her come back. Moss was growing out of the rubbers, thought I was going to need some weed killer at one point... ;)

My word Darren, knowing how well you’ve always kept it, it must have pained you to see her like that, but what a transformation.

Hopefully see you all at a social this year ?

Immensely kind mate, cheers pal.

I share your pain Darren, all that Saharan sand we had the last few times we've had a few spots of rain round our way - and I don't detail to even half the level that you do! But what a transformation, your car is a complete stunner and you should be very proud ?

What a fabulous transformation Darren. Much admiration and respect for an amazing job.

Amazing Darren, well done! Your A2 looks incredibly good, an art work. I thought my A2 was good, but its back to the drawing board now....

? Thank you very much. I'm sure yours is a cracker too, all A2s regardless of condition are born of the same pedigree.

Very uplifting and I'm sure will give you all the right fuzzies when you look at it now. Nothing worse than having something you love not in the fettle you'd like.

As you know, one of my favourite A2's, with that classy combo of colour, stance, wheels and interior, so it's fantastic to see it looking back on top form :)

Thanks Barry, incredibly satisfying mate. It was like falling in love all over again. ? Appreciate your immensely kind comments Sir.

Thanks Bob. I had another twinge of sciatica which took me to my knees last night when torqueing the wheel bolts. A warning shot across the bows that I need to keep on top of her in moderation rather than binge cleaning. I'm firing on two of my four cylinders still, sign I need a good service myself... ooh err...

Hope you and Janet are keeping well.

Ah Darren give us mere mortals a chance! You put mine to shame.
Glad to hear you're firing on all cylinders again.

Awesome darren - my white a2 (out only one now) had not seen any love in months so I did mine on Friday - so satisfying to see the change and as you it’s got my juices going again and are back in love again. Roll on socials.

Look forward to catching up with you and Yvonne in due course mate.

Darren,

Your stunning A2 always responds well to a bit of TLC and you have an amazing ability to catch the fruits of your efforts just right with the angle of the camera.

Looks superb Sir.

I must get the polishers out and have an afternoon of A2 pampering.

Kind regards,

Tom
