I've been having a couple of problems with the little A2, a knocking, decreased fuel efficiency & sometimes power loss. I'm going to ask about the last two as the first problem I think is mechanical (wheel / suspension related)
So to start with I've plugged in the computer and comes up with the following codes:
17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation
P1556 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17664 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P1256 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

The 17964 makes sense, as the symptoms are intermittent. The fault is every now and again, there is a power loss not crawling but the increase in power is drastically reduced. It's cleared by pulling over, switching off and switching back on again
I've been wanting to change the fuel filter for a while now so I'll get that done to see if it has any impact and along with checking the intercooler hoses and seeing how we get on from there

17664 - These seems to appear to be the temperature sensor I have another fault which is I perceive as long / struggling to start up. I'm going to replace the sensor ASAP however it appears that some are good and some not so good - has anybody got any experience or can recommend a decent brand as I really would like to fix it only once for now.
BTW it's s 2002 1.4 TDI
