Intake manifold; 6N Polo AFH 1.4 16V/ 6N2 Polo AJV 1.6 16V GTI
1.6 injectors
1.6 throttle body (1.4 = 45mm 1.6=54mm)
DIY air filter to throttle body pipe
Fox front silencer
Powersprint rear silencer
+ programmable fuelcat ethanol ecu

Results are:

100.2 PS @ 5494 rpm
137 NM (100 lb ft) @ 4385 rpm

Dyno video with graphs.

The torque max at 4385rpm makes it sound peakier than standard, but comparing the graph for it it to these graphs for various spec standard 75ps engines shows it makes good gains all the way through the rev range
I'm wondering how that inlet manifold and throttle body compares to the latter dbw 100bhp 1.4 and lower hp 1.6 16V, and if the 1.6 tb will fit on the standard inlet manifold.

There is a complete used AFH engine (76k miles) on ebay for £500, which is tempting! Add a Eaton M45 and it is 170bhp and still fits well inside the A2's bonnet!

Has no one ever actually tried mods like this on the A2? Seems to be the done thing over in Lupo-land!

Not so much but I can see it changing now there are engines like the 1.2 and 1.4 tsi about and the A1/Polo etc are developments of the earlier 9N Polo so physically fitting them shouldn't be much of an issue.
