Last week my A2 failed the MoT for tyres with damaged sidewall. So, I took the wheel off the car to check. No damage, perfect and I looked really closely.
So I went back to the MoT place with my story. They put the car on the ramp and showed me that both rear tyres had large cuts showing the carcass.
The difference was I was checking with them off the car with no load on. When the weight of the car went on them they opened up.
