A2 1.4 Clutch pedal height adjustment?

Happy new year folks!
I've had a look through the How-to's section and have not been able to find the answer to my question.

The project i've got at the moment is driving LOVELY! however there are still a few bits which i need to do. The Break pad wear light/alarm is on but have read up on that to know what to look for...

SO... The clutch bite point on this car is really high, it's not slipping and seems fine in all other gears, but in first from stopped it's got such a high bite, the rev's seem to drop and acceleration seems super sensitive so hard to feather. Is it possible to adjust the pedal angle? The last audi I had was high too but this is almost uncomfortable.

Thanks for any help!

The pedal has no adjustment, it sounds like this is due to a worn clutch, a high biting point is normally due to a worn clutch plate unfortunately.

Just because it isn't slipping does not mean that it is fine. I have driven other cars where there was no warning and the clutch suddenly gave up.

Did you replace the clutch? how much was it? Thanks.
To give you an idea my local garage who don't charge VAT on their work has quoted me £350, the average for a clutch replacement is anything between £350 and £450, you would have to get quotes from your area of course but hopefully it gives you an idea.

Morning,

In response to your question I got a quote from Mr Clutch for my TDI AMF A2.

The price was £318.31 as shown below. I don’t know what brand of clutch this would be but it’s there to give you an idea of what to pay from a National clutch ‘specialist’.

There will be plenty more places to visit for quotes so do shop around.

Personally though, if I was having any work done on my A2, it would be at the hands of Rob and Marcus at WOM Automotive @chumsofmanutd.

Kind regards,

Tom

I could really do with a mr clutch in Plymouth for that price. Well done Tom for making the enquiry, what a price compared to the quotes I've had.

If the quote Tom got was from Mr Clutch in Acton, London, they have a poor reputation locally.
