A2 1.9tdi vRS track car

ok this winter i will be building this and will need lots of bits
coilovers BIG brakes
the 1.9 tdi engine will be out of a skoda fabia vRS
cant wait to get started

Are you getting a complete VRS to start with, these have fairly big brakes, or didn't the Mk1 Leon have same fitting and Brembo 4-pots... ?

Ooh great stuff. I've got the same plan for next year (fitting vrs engine) but I'm whimping out and having my local mechanic to do it for me :)

Insane power. Tom ‘Timmus’ used them to tune his tdi120.

The standard turbo on the vrs is good for 170bhp so a hybrid would be making a lot more than 180bhp.

Agree Steve DSD state they map 170-180 depending on fuel delivery (clean injectors, filter) sure they provide a hybrid package for vrs engine which will be around 230bhp with other supporting mods. Alot of ponies from a 1.9.

Has anyone on the forum put a 1.9Tdi into an A2?
I’ve got a few A2s including a mapped, Timmus intercooler, EGR delet, 90 and a similar 75, both with MYP 6speed boxes. There’s also an unmoltested 55 plate 75Tdi and a couple of FSIs….
Last month I bought an 04 75Tdi with a snapped cam belt. Rather than resurrect it as a standard I’m looking at putting a130/150 1.9Tdi in it.
I’ve seen one that JoJo Cole did. and have read through Gary Wilson’s thread on the German forum. Mechanically it seems relatively straightforward, if cramped.

Any hints, tips and positive advice very welcome! (And if anyone has or knows of a crash damaged but otherwise unmolested Fabia VRS for sale please message me)

hello, where is the project? I would be interested in following it, for information I have a golf4 tdi 150hp, with an aluminum golf7 intercooler and a 1752 hybrid turbo, with my maps I arrive at 230hp but I have also a Lupo 1.4tdi of 75hp and I am also considering giving it an engine preparation so I am gathering the necessary parts to carry out the preparation, for the moment I have the turbo a GTC1446VZ which will pass to an electronic regulation but it I'm missing an intercooler, so I contacted PRO ALLOY.co.uk and am waiting for their response

The ProAlloy intercooler for the A2 TDI is a design by @timmus, which he first had made by them a few years ago. It gets produced in small batches when there's enough interest.

Edit: I see Tom has replied to your post on the other relevant thread, so I've no need to tag him to flag up your interest.

my A2 trackcar project was abandoned in 2019 due to covid
however
late in 2020 i bought a ready made track car from a friend and im still using it ( BUT IT IS FOR SALE )

that said timmus or the company that manufactures your air coolers still hasn't answered me about the price so my project is blocked for the moment

@timmus has been away on holiday so please be patient for a reply as no doubt he will have many messages to get through upon his return. The initial figure quoted for a pro alloy intercooler was £495....hope this helps.
