My car is a sport tdi

I currently have a set of A3 15” wheels on my car, and I am looking for some lighter wheels which may fit better. I believe mine are 6” wide which I guess is too wide in comparison to standard A2 wheels?

I heard the pepperpot style wheel is the lightest wheel for the A2, is this true?

The chrome/polished 15” wheel is forged/lightweight?

Don’t really want to go bigger than 15” if it will compromise the comfort (it’s already terrible over bumps)

Can someone direct me to an existing thread that may have already discussed this subject?

I would also like a brand new gear knob and gaiter. What options are available? Something genuine / quality. Doesn’t have to be an original A2 one, it could be from another model (A3, TT etc)

I am forever buying small things to make my car better! I have changed my steering wheel to a brand newly retrimmed 8N TT one with the silver/aluminium ring in the middle. The feeling of it is so much nicer than the original worn out one!

Few other random things off the top of my head that maybe someone can help with.

New heater vents (one of mine is broken)

Heater control text / writing is worn off, would be nice to have new front fascia to this?

I’ve seen some electric window switches which are silver tipped on the edges like newer Audis have, not sure where to get those

Sun visor clip broken, passenger side visor, but the right hand side clip that screws (or clips ?) into the roof lining.

I need a couple of original screws/bolts for the front seats, the ones that fix them to the car floor pan.

Seat mount for an aftermarket bucket style seat? I have a “Cobra Nogaro” seat which I may want to fit at some point but no idea about where to get the right mount (if it already exists?) or someone that can fabricate one.

Probably going to think of more. And also probavly wont do all of the above jobs immediately. I am looking for some friendly input that might help me sway directions on what to do with some of the things on my car!

If you’ve not done so already, upgrade to the market place on here. There is a thread on pepperpots spotted and @A2Steve or @Clackers can likely help with the required other bits

I've used (like many) forged lightweights and pepperpots and can say the pepperpots are just lighter but not much in it. Go for which ever you like look of. The only difference is have a j width. 5.5 vs 6. 17 sports are 7j for example if you're worried about size.

A sport a2 leather gearstick is nice upgrade but don't come up for sale too often.
Fascias on stereo and climate can be changed to hard touch or renovated using thread on here somewhere.

If you can post a photo or pic of the wheels you have on at the moment we will be able to tell you more of what you could expect with fitting other wheels but as others have said either the standard forged 5.5j 15" standard A2 alloys or the 6j Pepperpots (which are also off an A3 8L btw) would certainly be a little lighter than what you have but tbh the biggest single reason for the improved ride quality of fitting 15's is down to the tyres, or should I say the deeper sidewall depth that they allow.

If you do decide to go for the lighter wheels whichever you went for you should be able to use your existing tyres on them if they are in good condition đź‘Ť

Evening,

If you want to have vision of what’s available within our very own Market area then upgrade your account as per this link, it’s easy to follow and I’m certain that most of what you’re after will be available soon enough.

Kind regards,

Tom

can anyone advise what i may require to fit a bucket seat into my A2 ?

i have a brand new cobra nogaro seat, with no mounts etc.

what do i need to do, to get this fitted properly into the car ?

i am not familiar with fitting aftermarket seats to ars

the standard A2 seats are trash.
The original A2 Sport seats were much nicer to live with as a daily car. but the ÂŁÂŁÂŁ was tempting to sell them (considering the value of the car at its mileage, it seemed a sensible option to sell them on to a more appreciating owner!) so i sold them a while back!

If you've had the seats out of your A2, you'll know where the four mounting points are for each one. If you don't still have the original spline bolts to go in them, they won't be in short supply with our ethical breakers. Going just on general principles with no idea of the mounting of the bucket seat, at a guess you're going to have to fabricate something like a double H-shape linking the two in-car mounting points down each side and two bars braced across between them, which has the correct holes for your Cobra seat to mount to. Good luck :)

thank you, i was hoping someone might have already encountered this and maybe someone knows a manufacturer that can help with the correct mount required ?

Evening,

Have a read through this thread and the links contained within it. The information available if not specific to bucket seats but should give you an idea of the bespoke brackets required.

Edit: Ian just pipped me there. Good luck with your quest.

Kind regards,

Tom

I think you messed up selling those sport seats, maybe sell the, `Nogaro`, and put an add on wanted for another set of sport seats, the longer it takes for your new seats to turn up the more you`ll appreciate them..

Personally I like my A2`s OEM.
