A2 Opensky

Hi Everyone.

I am currently scouting around for an A2 at the moment and have seen a couple of them for sale with the open-sky sunroof system. When (not if) I purchase an A2 has anyone used roof bars with an A2 with the open-sky sunroof. I'm just enquiring before I actually purchase one with this option.

Over to Johann. He's the only one I know of to fit bars to an open-sky car.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

Yes it is working fine...

The main feet of the rack should rest on the roof when the system is installed as per the handbook or on the glass in my case with Open Sky. Which clearly you can't do. You can adjust the Thule system so that it toes out... hence NOTHING touches the glass and the system rests on the main frame of the car. So you just angle the feet differently and THEN you tighten it down securely. This was done and demonstrated to me by the main Thule agent I bought the rack from near Sevenoaks. (http://www.roofracks.co.uk) I have had no problems and it feels as sturdy as anything. Just NEVER EVER open the roof with the bars on!!! I wanted to take the fuse out for the Open Sky when I have the racks on... but that also is the fuse for the horn!!! LOL
