The model profile in the Feb 2008 issue of Audi Driver magazine will be focussing on the A2 and we're looking for a cross-section of owners who'd be interested in being interviewed by our reporter Peter Noad about themselves and their cars, as well as supplying a suitable picture.

If you're interested, please email back to [email protected] with basic details of your car, your postal address and phone number (most convenient number for Peter to call you on) and if you have a good quality digital photo please attach that as well (only one or two, please, no need for a whole gallery ;)

We look forward to hearing from you soon :)

regards

Neil Birkitt, for Audi Driver magazine

Audi Driver Mag

Is this a response to the ITV4 award?
If so, a great bonus. Next thing we will see is Audi promoting the A2 as part of its 'Vorsprung durch Technik' heritage.
(Even tempted to subscribe to the mag!)

No - it is completely separate and unrelated.

You should subscribe to Audi Driver - it is a fantastic read each month, assuming of course, you are interested in the world of Audi, its heritage and technical aspects.

I've heard nothing yet from Mr Hicks, but then he's probably got better things to do at the moment!

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,
the fact that Hicks has not acknowledged your letter with an initlal reply says it all for me, and demonstrates an unacceptable attituide from the leader of Audi UK.

I've worked for two large financial institutions, a police authority and a number of county councils. . They ALL had a policy that if some one wrote in to the CEO a reply (even a holding reply) was sent within a short time scale - no more than 5 working days - and a response sent within 10 working days. I'm sure most of the club members here have similar experience working for companies large and small. I get really annoyed with Audi (or is it all car manufacturers) having this attitude they are doing us a huge favour by allowing us to spend exhorbitant amounts of our hard earned cash on their products.... ...should we be sending Mr Hicks a club Christmas card??

Whoops - sorry, this moan should have gone under "letter to Mr Hicks" - I do apologise - I don't want to turn the thread from Audi Driver - sorry.

Had a phone call and a nice chat with Peter from the magazine.

Have to admit to getting tounge tied when he asked me about any faults,
maybe the big A pillars? No, got used to peering around them. Maybe the . . . nope, my only current gripe is servicing.
As I recall when I replaced the brake discs and pads I could only get the rear discs from a Stealer, my local VW dealer couldn't get them as they are Audi only. Got the rest from GSF with our excellent OC discount but had to get the rears from Audi.

Was also asked about any other Audi I would like. TT is not practical, neither unfortunately is the R8 (never mind the price). Think Clar*son is right and the Q7 looks like a squashed hippo, An A3 possibly, Allroad for sure but not the fuel bill which left me really with the A1, but we have to wait and see.
Would also consider looking for another A2 in a few years, if I could find a low mile example.

Have been meaning to subscribe for the last year so I should really pull my finger out and do it, but the easy availablity in my local newsagents has slowed me down a bit.

Have also given the A2 a good review in Which? magazines survey and slated my company Fiesta.

Cheers

Me and my big mouth, none in the agents when I went at the weekend!
Signing up for a subscription on their webpage when I noticed the Links page; we're not there!

Cheers

Excellent feature in the mag, just one question . . . Is every other owner a policeman?

Note, 'classy' is not a word I use!

Cheers

A pretty good summary of A2 ownership methinks!

Managed to mention the ARB issue but forgot to tell Peter of the hydraulic hose/gearchange woes 1.5 yrs ago.

Will need to keep her going some years yet. At least until I can afford a Loremo!
