Information A2 Pick-up conversion project

I am of course looking forward to taking the A2 pick-up out for a spin and would be happy to bring it along for a meet-up (when it is finished) now that it looks like we are over the worse of the pandemic (fingered crossed)

@Cenick and I are in the early stages of planning a south west meet around the Cheddar George area which will be a nice drive out later in the year. You would be very much welcome.

That retrim really is very high end isn’t it. Hats off to you with the colour choices, it oozes quality.

I have the feeling this car is going to kick up quite a storm when it gets on the road.
Agreed. The re-trim looks really impeccable ? @Bobeee who did you use for the leather trim?

That has to be the cutest little pick up I've ever seen, the colour combo is stunning, I do hope to see this little gem at a car meet, may be Audi's in the park?

Wow

For those of you who are not on Facebook, Surrey Auto Works have posted the final photos of this great project. The owner hasn’t been active here since april last year so I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing.
Evening Steve,

Now doesn’t that look truly awesome. Thanks for sharing. Stunning finish. Would really like to see this at a social one day.

Has it given you any ideas… Dune Pick Up!

Kind regards,

Tom

Pretty sure I could make a pickup in about an hour with an angle grinder, but seeing as it took the professionals a few years to complete I think I’d never have the tools, skill or time to do it 😊

Wow, what a finish ... and that interior! I'd seen the in-works shots and I always thought the result would be worth seeing, but that's just something special 😍

Many thanks for putting that on Steve. Sensational is the understatement. Would love to see it in the "metal"

A pleasure for those of us who don't "do" social media.

Hi Folks, I have just posted a short update, but in the wrong place! However, thanks to Kaz's Facebook postings, I can see that Steve has already updated everybody with latest photos - thanks Steve! Like Simon, i don't really do social media..
Anyway, back to the story. I am now the very proud owner of a rather exclusive A2 Pick-up. Kaz and his team at Surrey Auto Works have done a fantastic job as you can also see from the images. I can also confirm that it looks even better 'in the metal'. And yes, Kaz has indeed said that he is going to prepare a more in-depth video. I certainly plan to bring the pick-up along to one of the A2OC meets next year, so everybody can take a first hand look at this lovely vehicle. I also have to think about what i am going to do (if anything) about some form of tonneau cover. I have had a number of ideas, but i don't want to spoil the 'show-car' looks with ugly studs or hooks. Any suggestions? As you can see from these photos, there is a secure space below the load bay floor. this is released by two buttons with a key in the centre to lock-it

hey bobeee, is there a reason you swapped the slatted grille in favour of the smooth one?
Yes, I thought that the smooth grill was more in keeping with the original design of the A2. I suspect that the 'fake slatted grill' was probably an attempt by the then Audi marketing department to make the car look more 'normal'. I also think that the smooth grille (somewhat ironically) makes the car look more modern
