A2 satnav help

Hi just fitted satnav it says unit locked if I undo the battery will it unlock
What Sat Nav are you using? Is it an Audi unit such as RNSE or an aftermarket one.
do you have the code that came with the unit.
undoing the battery will not help because this lock message is a security lock to prevent stolen ones from working.

Do you have the code? Do you have the manual? There is likely a button combination in the manual to enable code entry(I don't know what it is).

You switch on and when you see the SAFE warning turn the lower right button to enter the first number on the code then press the button in and repeat for the rest of the number.

If it is saying locked then have you been trying the wrong code?

if it has locked you need to leave it switched on for around an hour (seriously). That will enable SAFE mode again.
But you did say it was showing “SAFE” and not “LOCKED”.
Which is it?

or did you mean that it is still saying SAFE but nothing works?

If it is not letting you enter the code then as I said you need to leave it fully turned on for an hour or so. But do remember that when you have entered the code by turning and pressing the lower right knob you have to turn it to selelect OK and press it in again.

But please make sure that you have the right code and it should work after one hour.

The information you need is likely in the manual. This is from @spike regarding a Symphony unit, your rns may be the same though I don't have a manual...
"I had a Symphony1 in my 2001 TDi and it needed the code after battery disconnection.
TP and RDS were used on my radio but later ones used RDS and SCAN to get '1000' to appear."
