A2 was sold until LAST month!!!

A friend of mine in the motor industry sent me the total sales figures for all cars sold in the EU for April and May... Total file is 2MB and I can forward to anyone that wants a look (but it is too big to upload here). Interesting thing pops up at Audi...

The four columns in the attached files are for the April JPG slide:

Total sales April 07, Total sales April 06, Total sales 4 months to now in '07 and total sales first 4 months in 2006.

The four bars for the May slide is the same bar it being May's sales and the first 5 months of total sales.

So you can see in May 2007 there were no more A2 left, but in the first 4 months up to April they sold the last seven A2s!
 
Maybe these are test cars. There are cars which were sold to recyclers. Directly from Audi. But they are not alloud to sell them to the market. They only can sell parts from it.

Had a long phone call to Audi Customer Services and they said they would report back to HQ regarding public perception of Audi brand as just focussing on fast or large cars and not CO2 friendly.

Said they should bring back A2 maybe as E2 / ECO2 and perhaps just one spec to combat Prius brigade. Maybe 1.2 TDI with a more sporty 6 speed gearbox.

Would be a shame to use Polo platform though - extra weight!

What would you want from a new A2?
