I totally agree with what you are saying about the trolley jack. Already said I use a trolley jack, just giving my opinion if you are going to use the Audi jack then use 2 . Not everyone has a trolley jack - although they should.

Sorry, don't agree, if you jack it up with a trolley jack at the correct points you can safely slide the axle stands to a flat part of the rear beam.
At the front I put the stands under the wishbone Bush, its rock solid evey time.
That is a reply to stevie G by the way.
Thanks - will try that!

First days of owning A2 i had to use factory jack to find why my 1.2 would not start (clutch sensor). Had very very slight downhill, jacked and removed left front wheel. While i was slightly manhandling my car it slipped forward, rear wheels locked by handbrake but they just slipped. Lucky for me i had placed big lump of square wood under nose so it softly landed on big bushings. Not used since, but keep it where it belongs just in case.

That sounds like one of those awful slo-mo 'noooo!' moments. How horrible and yet easy to do.

A 1.2Tdi has the same jacking points as any other A2. Jacking on the suspension is a no/no. If you need to use axle stands, the only option is to use the A2 jack. If you chock the wheels on the opposite side, it's perfectly safe.

The standard Lupo jack is designed for the sill but only for the front and back. If you jack in the middle, like a lot of other cars I suspect, the sill will collapse.
