A2BA - Come along, take a seat and introduce yourself ...

HI Everyone. I think i have a problem. I own 2 A2s, one on the road(daily driver) other work in progress (fsi). Everytime i do an online search i always end up viewing A2s that are for sale. Please can you diagnose my problem so i can take the appropriate medicine.
Thanks Steve

Do they both/all have to be working? If not, my breaker rules me in ;)

"Forgive me for I have sinned, I have been having lustful thoughts about acquiring another A2 for its heated Platinum leather interior ..." Thank heaven that one's sold now!

Membership is particularly pertinent if you have one A2, and lots of bits of other A2s lying around :)

We have around 5 OSS in the garage, a set of seats, door cards, steering wheel, two doors and other bits and pieces.

Oh and a grands worth of original Audi OSS spares.

Are we addicts?!

I’m Edward I have 3 a2s one 90 that’s currently getting a 6 speed box and chain in Cherry red. A 1.4i yellow colour storm with OSS and another 1.4i in castle red with a OSS. I think I have a problem as I’m always searching for new a2s really want a yellow TDi or a blue colour storm TDi 90 with OSS

While technically I'm in 'remission' now I'm back down to one A2, I could relapse at any time! :p

My wife sent me this on Jan 2nd...

I have explained to my wife that 2 A2's is normal and it only becomes an addiction above that number. I even pointed her in the direction of a photo (on this website) of the support group founder's driveway in Syston to prove my point...……………….

She tried to score cheap points by mentioning the 1970 VW Beetle and the 2017 Peugeot 2008 which I regard as irrelevant to core A2 issue.

I countered that I only sold the last A2 in 2008 because she wanted a new Fiat 500.

Had that traumatic event not taken place then I might have been spared this pain ……………..

(The 2008 Fiat 500 is shown on the DVLA website as last MOT'd in 2016. I rest my case!)

What's talk about at A2BA stays at A2BA ... Admitting you have the addiction means you're halfway there ... I'm not quite certain where THERE is though, but hey that's not the point.

My 1984 Scirocco doesn't even come into the equation, I have had that for 25 years this year.

Don't worry Jeremy - I described the driveway as being 'in a secret location'.

25 years? Had the Beetle since 1977. I call it a 'sentimental attachment'!

Another Steve, one of the most recently addicted.
In the few weeks of ownership I've done key swaps on the radio and climate, repaired a front door micro switch, fixed a boost issue, remapped it, fitted Bluetooth, replaced the fuel flap switch, replaced the temp sender and a few more. I've currently in the garage a second set of (straight) wheels I'm doing a quick flash over to put on the car. I'm finding it quite rewarding fixing the faults and I'm a mechanic in the daytime so all the work is done in my spare time much to my wife's despair. She remarked that neighbors must think I'm strange the amount of time I'm spending in the car.... Maybe...?

Yes we have two a2s we have done for over 12 years changing the odd one over that time for a lower miler ..but that’s mainly down to my better half she don’t like driving anything else she truly does love um ? I do to but I’ve other stuff I like to drive ...but we have freed up another storage space if a 3rd cracker should appear as Sally’s worried what he have now won’t last her out ?....

I’ve been really unkind to my son! (Not really)

I repaired his £225 Pearlecent Pine Green Tdi he bought as his 1st car and then proceeded to steal it from him for £325!

I then had the audacity to stick a leather interior in place of the manky cloth seats. To top it off I even bought another set of pepperpots and stuck some new tyres on them.

Do I feel guilty? Nope it’s his loss!
